Sunday morning saw over 150 people turn out for the Annual Remembrance Service at Church. The Church was full with many people standing. The service was led by Fr Rob Parker-McGee (Parish Priest) and Revd Samuel Silungwe (URC Minister). Dignities laid poppy wreaths at the war memorial in the Churchyard before the entire congregation processed in behind the cross and the three banners. Following on from a rousing sermon (let-all-mortal-flesh-keep-silence-remembrance-2016), the names of those from Geddington who lost their lives in the two world wars were read out before a two minute silence was top and tailed by some beautiful horn play by Mr Andrew Hammond. Below are photos of the gathering around the memorial of the Standard Bearers and Sacred Ministers at the beginning of the service and a few of the Sunday School children making their own ‘living’ poppy in their Sunday school lesson this morning.
