St Mary Madgalene, Geddington and St Mary the Virgin, Weekley engage in a whole host of outreach activities in order to serve our communities. Below is a list of just some of the things that we are engaged in. If you would like to get involved in this important aspect of Christian life Click Here

Love in ActionLove in Action Tree

Love in Action is an expression of God’s love directed through our two churches, St Mary Magdalene, Geddington and St Mary the Virgin, Weekley, to any who may need help and support in a variety of ways. The Love in Action team is made up of volunteer members from both churches. They openly offer different kinds of short term help and ongoing support. Love in Action is the Church’s response to the need in our communities by offering practical and spiritual help at the point of need. Pastoral Care & Sick Ministry

Caring for people spiritually and pastorally are central aspects to Christian outreach. As Christians looking to deepen our faith, every member has a part to play in the care of others. The church does not only rely on one or two people to care for the community. It is the responsibility of every person of faith to love and care for others and to be clear that they do so modelling the ministry of Jesus. Prayer BreakfastsPrayerBreakfast2

On the 4th Saturday of each month St Mary Magdalene, Geddington holds a prayer breakfast. These are informal and those attending share breakfast pastries and a cuppa whilst discussing the concerns of the parish and the world. Towards the end we all join in open prayer to pray for everything we have discussed and anything else that may be on our minds. Members of the PCC, Prayer Circle, Ministry Team are especially invited, but so is everyone else – it is not exclusive. Our Church will only be healthy and grow, if we are a praying community aspiring to follow God’s lead. So why not become a regular part of such a profound undertaking? Come along…

Coffee Mornings

Our Coffee Mornings usually take place on the 4th Saturday of each month and everyone is welcome. They follow on from our Prayer Breakfasts and we see a whole raft of our community old and young turning out for a natter and a cuppa. Pop in!

Noah’s Ark

At 9.15am every Wednesday during term time, Noah’s Ark Parent and Toddler Group is held at St Mary Magdalene, Geddington. Noah’s Ark is a significant venture to support young parents and their toddlers. All are welcome. It includes fun and games, songs and cake, coffee/tea and snacks/drinks for the little ones, with no shortage of chat. There is just a small charge of £2.50 per family to cover costs (irrelevant of how many of you there are or how much cake you eat on the day).

Outreach Initiatives

Both churches engage in a whole host of other outreach initiatives throughout the year, including food parcels at Harvest, DSC00965Beer and Hymns in the local pub, Church Fetes, Christmas & Easter Festivals, Soup Lunches, Harvest Suppers and much, much more. Information about these events can be found on our Upcoming Events pages.

We are always on the look out to do more and for more individuals who are willing to give up a little bit of their time to develop their faith in the service of others. If you are able to give a little of your time then find out more about how to Here.
