Geddington and Weekley

Churches for you

Welcome

A very warm welcome to St Mary Magdalene, Geddington and St Mary the Virgin, Weekley! Our churches are for everyone!

We aim to provide a space where you can encounter God, deepen your faith, as well as build friendships with others. As a church, we are committed to seeing people's lives transformed by the power of God's love.

On this website you will find information about who we are and what you can expect when you come to one of our churches, but if you do have any questions, please reach out and ask us.

Rev’d Gillian

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1

A Story in Stone

ReredosThe 1,000 year old church of St Mary Magdalene in Geddington features a 15th century reredos (altar screen), which depicts the Last Supper before Christ was crucified. The screen was in a state of disrepair because incorrect mortar was used to repair it in the past. We  received a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund, and together with the church's own funds and generous support from the Friends of Geddington Church we have been able to restore this historic part of the church.

HirstThe restoration was carried out by Hirst Conservation Ltd. Throughout their conservation work, which lasted several months, we posted their progress to a conservation blog which you can see by following the link below.
